TECHNICAL MINISTRIES
Nothing we do, no amount of Celebration Choir, Praise Team, or Worship Band rehearsals would have a ministry without our committed Technical Ministers: Brian Scott heads up the Technical Ministries with his constant search for updating of equipment, his ability to fix anything having to do with computers, and his understanding of sound. Brian also controls our new lighting board. Michael Peter Chan Gordon (his real name!) is the head of the Sound Ministry. He and the rest of the technical team rehearse with us every Sunday morning at 8:00am. Michael also arranges for sound technicians to be available for other needs in the church, such as wedding etc. Chester Hearring is a well-known LA radio host and monitors all of our outgoing sound through our website and to Atherton Homes across the street. Jonathan Pirir, along with the help of his new-born son, Luke, works with Michael in setting up and running sound on an as needed basis. He, too, is an accomplished computer 'geek' and helps in many other ways. Esabel Acevedo is a high school girl who runs our projection ministry on Sunday mornings. She is not a fan of 8:00 am, but somehow always seems to get there. Karen Chan helps us out as 'caller', the person letting the sound, video and projectionist what will be happening next in the service. We are very in need of more technicians in every area, particularly that of sound technicians. This does not require any experience, merely a desire to play a behind-the-scenes-but-critical role in our services and special presentations. |
