Our Mission: First Baptist Church of Alhambra's Family Life Ministries exist to nurture families to KNOW Christ, GROW in Christ, SERVE Christ, SHARE Christ, and CELEBRATE the joy of our relationship with Christ.

Sunday Opportunities

Discovery Hour Classes for All Ages - 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

For Children (Birth - Grade 6): Promiseland! Our Goal is to make this hour the best one of every kids' week.

• The Bible is taught creatively
• Intentional shepherding occurs in small groups
• All activities are geared to focus on application of the truths of the Bible to daily living.

For Youth:

• Middle School as well as High School guys and gals are separated into small groups for digging into the Bible and to pray for one another.
• College Student small group Bible Study and prayer.

For Adults: We offer a variety of classes for adults in various passages of life. We gather as friends to delve into God's Word, apply it to our lives and share the Good News of Jesus Christ withy others.

Wednesday Night Offerings

Nursery care for birth through age two. Discipleship classes are offered for ages 3 to 333. 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

For Children: GroZone - for ages 3 - K and Grades 1-6.

Parents appreciate our discipleship clubs for many reasons. First, our clubs are designed to move children toward spiritual maturity. Second, our clubs are fun! Each meeting includes:

• Organized and supervised games that not only are fun but reinforce what is being taught.
• Active worship in song
• The Bible taught creatively
• Character development
• Application of Bible truths
• Small group prayer times.
• Refreshments

• For Parents and their K - 6th grade children
• Big Group Bible Discovery Time with group games and activities
• Small Group Family Time - Where kids and parents talk about what they are learning
• Swim Time!  At the Atherton Pool (Across the Street)  Pool includes a hot tub for the adults!
• Every Wednesday through September 1.
  
• Same time as usual: Wednesdays 6:30 pm - 8:30  pm.
  

For Youth: (Junior High)

Sunday Night

• 6:00 pm The Table High School Bible Study
  

Students experience:

• Worship together
• Separate Middle School and High School games
• Digging into God's Word, connecting with each other and going out to serve a fallen world.

For Adults: Discipleship Classes

• Masterlife Discipleship Courses
• Precepts In-Depth Bible Studies - separate men's and women's courses
• Traditional Prayer Meeting and Bible Study

Special Events Throughout the Year

Fall

• "Light the Night" - Our October 31st alternative to door to door trick-or-treating. Bring the family for free food, fun booths, giant inflatable bouncers, hilarious karaoke and special events for youth
  
• Christmas musical practice - for K - 6th grade. Practice happens when kids are dismissed from the worship service for "Kid's Own Worship"

Winter/Spring

• Adult Christmas Musical and Children's Christmas Musical
• Childen's Winter Camp at Thousand Pines (grades - 3 - 6)
• Youth Winter Camp (Middle School - High School)
• Women's Tea (Spring)

Summer

• Splash Family Nights! - Parents and their K - 6th grade children learn and play together on Wednesday evenings 6:30 - 8:30 in the evening (nursery care is provided). Parents have time with their kids individually to learn how to nurture their children spiritually. We actually go swimming, too!
• Summer Camp - (for those going into grades 3-6, Junior High and High School). Hiking, swimming, big group games, crafts, morning chapels, fun-filled and inspiring music, positive relationships with God and great supervision are offered.  Camp 2010: "Wake Up!" July 26 - 30.  Speaker: Arol McFadden; Cost: $290 (includes room, board, t-shirt, camp picture and a special gift!)
  

Various Times Throughout the Year

• Opportunities such as parenting seminars and small groups, marriage weekends, women's events, etc. are offered.
